The fire inside
That can’t stop thinking about it, can’t stop talking about it feeling
I almost forgot what it felt like to feel that fire deep inside. You know the feeling that lights you up? When you are talking with a friend about something that makes your adrenaline rush. I have a few things that give me this feeling but the number one thing that does it for me is travel.
It’s always been travel.
Mind you I have only been to Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Colorado as far as visiting. So I’m not the most seasoned traveler yet, But I do know that my vision board and Pinterest board are chop full of the places I want to see. I subscribe to the travel magazines and follow all the travel/food/culture sites on social media. My desire to pack a bag and live out of it in another country for weeks on end is something serious. I sometimes feel crazy how fired up I get just thinking about it.
You may be reading this thinking well why are you writing this article versus getting on a plane to Norway? My thought exactly but my bank account for one. Second I want to do it right and not have to worry about rushing back to work. I don’t want to spend 2 of my days traveling in the air and then only have 2 days to explore. I am however planning my first trip to Europe and I am beyond excited as you can imagine!
I’ve realized that the things you are passionate about is for a purpose.
Everyone has something whether they are aware of it or not. You are passionate about something and it’s for a reason. I’m a firm believer in faith and that if you follow what you are drawn to it will lead you to exactly where you need to be. Your heart already knows what it feels and what it wants, as humans we just need to turn off our overthinking brain just long enough to follow that heart of ours.
Today I was reminded that whether my bank account says drop everything and go over seas or stay a little longer to build that savings, I will find a way to travel and experience other cultures in this lifetime. It’s too heavy on my heart for it to not come to fruition. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I’ve falling in love with places that I haven’t even seen. I have fallen in love with traveling through books, magazines, movies and more.
